Our mom bought the masks, cape, lightsaber, and blaster, and she made the rest of the costumes. They seemed screen-accurate at the time, but looking back, I don’t remember Stormtroopers wearing a crossing guard-style belt! At least there was no arguing over who got to be Darth Vader, because even at that age, I knew Vader had to be the taller one.”
