John remembers the day like this. “Summer 1980 – Morganton, NC. Our church youth group prepares to go to Hickory, NC to see “The Empire Strikes Back”. One of the college students at our church dressed up as Darth Vader to see us on our way. That’s me in the front in the cut-off jeans shorts, and my brothers, David (being held by a girl in the youth group), and Aaron (in the coveralls). It was a fun day!”
